Grandissima Gravita

Another superb recording from the award-winning Rachel Podger and Brecon Baroque. Rachel Podger has has established herself as one of the finest players of baroque violin in the world. The dynamic ensemble Brecon Baroque consists of an international line-up of some of the leading lights in the period instrument world, including cellist Alison McGillivray, harpsichordist Marcin Świątkiewicz and Daniele Caminiti who plays the theorbo on this disc.

This recording contains two sonatas by Veracini and one sonata from each of Vivaldi, Tartini and Pisendel. Each piece is performed to the extremely high standard that we have come to expect from these artists and Channel Classics are to be congratulated on the outstanding quality of the recording.

This is most definitely one to add to your collection.
