Remembering Jack Brymer

Jack Brymer, who died on 15 September 2013, was one of the finest clarinettists of the late 20th century. Brymer’s relaxed style of playing and serene tone led to an increased interest in learning the clarinet and he proved to be an inspiration to a whole generation of players in the years following the second world war.

He was a highly successful orchestral player, chamber musician and a highly accomplished soloist. He can be heard in the latter two of these roles on this outstanding CD which contains highly praised performances of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major, K622 and his Clarinet Quintet in A major, K581.
